Work & Equality Lab
We are a team of researchers working to advance understanding of how all people can build careers in which they can flourish. We seek to better understand the reasons for systemic inequality in the work and career outcomes that people experience. We aim to develop research-informed solutions to help all people pursue and enjoy the careers to which they aspire.
We have studied people’s career experiences across several occupations and professions, and in different kinds of organizations. Some of our studies are of consultants, independent scientists, journalists, graphic designers, nurses and engineers. We use a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
The Work & Equality Lab is based at McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business. Our work has been supported by grants from Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the Ontario Early Researcher Award program.
